Award Overview

The Parks and Recreation Excellence Award recognizes outstanding parks, recreational facilities, programs, or initiatives within New Brunswick that demonstrate exceptional service, innovation, and sustainability. This award celebrates organizations and communities that enhance quality of life, foster inclusivity, and promote sustainable tourism through their dedicated efforts in parks and recreation.

Eligibility Criteria: 

Nominees must:

  • Be a public or private park, recreation facility, or program operating within New Brunswick.
  • Show clear evidence of positive community impact, innovative programming, or environmental sustainability.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment and excellence over time.
  • Contribute to the local economy and tourism through their activities or facilities.
  • Submit supporting materials that showcase their achievements and impact.

Judging Criteria: 

Submissions will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Community Impact: How the project or organization benefits community health, cohesion, and inclusivity.
  • Innovation & Creativity: Unique approaches, new programs, or creative use of resources that stand out.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Eco-friendly practices, conservation efforts, and habitat preservation.
  • Facility and Program Quality: Accessibility, safety, maintenance, and overall quality of offerings.
  • Partnerships & Collaboration: Collaborations that expand reach and enhance services.

Nomination Requirements:

Each nomination package must include:

  1. A completed nomination form.
  2. A written summary (max 750 words) describing the marketing strategy and its outcomes.
  3. Supporting documents (e.g., analytics reports, visuals, links to campaigns, testimonials).
  4. Optional: 1–2 letters of support from industry partners or clients.
